The City of Lawton will be adjusting its trash schedule this week, because of Christmas.
City offices and facilities will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday, with normal hours to resume Thursday. However, Lawton Public Library will close at 5 p.m. Tuesday and reopen at 9 a.m. Thursday.
The solid waste division will not collect residential, commercial or industrial trash on Tuesday or Wednesday. Area 2 (those on the Tuesday residential route) will be collected on Thursday; area 3 (Thursday collection) will be picked up on Friday, and area 4 (Friday collection) will be collected on Saturday. The city landfill also will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday, then will reopen to the public on Thursday.
In addition, LATS will not run its fixed routes on Christmas Day.
Comanche County also will close the Comanche County Courthouse and its offices Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Normal operations will resume Thursday.
