CHARLOTTE, N.C.—Freshman Jeremiah Fears hit a late 3-point bucket and turned it into a four-point play when he was fouled to to lift Oklahoma to an 87-86 victory over Michigan in the Jumpman Invitational Wednesday.
The No. 14 Sooners trailed for much of the game but rallied thanks to several Michigan turnovers and owned an 80-76 lead before a couple of turnovers led to fouls and the No. 24 Wolverines made just enough of the free throws pull ahead.
But after a miss, Fears got the ball and put up an off-balance shot that found the mark and drew contact. The free throw bounced around but dropped.
Michigan had a chance but a 3-pointer missed its mark.
Cowboys edge Tarleton
STILLWATER—Oklahoma State rallies in the second half to beat Tarleton State University 66-61 Wednesday night at Gallagher-Iba-Arena.
OSU Improved to 7-3, while TSU dropped to 3-10 on the season.
In the first half, the Cowboys struggled offensively as TSU recorded five steals, disrupting OSU’s offense. TSU shot 50% from 3-point range, hitting 4 of 8 attempts, compared to OSU’s 17 percent.
