UScellular gifted $1,500 worth of percussion instruments to Lawton Arts for All Thursday. The donation was part of UScellular’s “Gift of Connection,” program. Arts for All was one of 50 organizations to receive donations from UScellular this year.
“We’re proud to provide Lawton Arts for All with this donation as they continue to be a pillar of support and inspiration for the Lawton community,” said Joe Cabrera, director of sales and operations for UScellular in Lawton. “Giving back is a part of UScellular’s commitment to connect people to what matters most, and we’re honored to give the gift of connection this holiday season.” Cabrera said in a press release.
“We are so grateful to UScellular for this generous donation,” said Lawton Arts for All Executive Director Karen Villarreal. “The arts are critical to our community and result in greater community spirit and cohesiveness, improved quality of life and wholesome activities, strengthened schools and enrichment of student lives, and provides an economic infusion of millions of dollars into our community.”
“As a nonprofit, we are 100% funded through donations, grants and sales, and this donation will help us continue to provide access to the arts across the community. We believe that access to art is crucial because it enhances quality of life and enriches our understanding of the world. Art stimulates imagination, inspires creativity, and promotes critical thinking. It provides a medium for self-expression and can also foster empathy and social cohesion. Inclusive and equitable access ensures that everyone in our community can benefit from the transformative power of art,” said Villarreal in a press release.
