The City of Lawton will hold a “soft opening” Thursday for its new drive-thru utility payment building.
The building is designed to streamline the utility payment process for residents, allowing them to make payments from their vehicles. The facility is located on the northwest corner of Lawton City Hall’s west parking lot, 212 SW 9th.
While Thursday is the soft launch to allow residents to begin using the service, the official ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 4:30 p.m. Dec. 10.
Following the soft launch, residents can use the drive-thru service, which will be staffed by utility services personnel, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. This setup is designed to facilitate a quick and hassle-free payment experience. To ensure smooth service, residents are encouraged to have their account number, address and payment method ready upon arrival.
For those who need to make payments outside of regular hours, a self-service kiosk will be available. The kiosk allows residents to pay their utility bills by scanning their bill or entering their account information. It supports various payment methods, including cash, check and credit cards. Additionally, the kiosk features live support for assistance with any issues that may arise during the payment process.
Additional information is available at the Utility Services Department at (580) 581-3308, or the website at https://www.lawtonok.gov/residents/utility-services.
