For his 50 years of service as pastor, the Lawton Cavalry Assembly of God Church is honoring Pastor Byron Elmore with a celebration of his service on Dec. 1.
The church, 2402 NW Bell, invites all to services at 10 a.m. followed by a come and go fellowship from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Great Plains Coliseum Annex, 920 S. Sheridan.
At the age of 14-years-old Elmore stepped up to the pulpit to preach his first sermon.
From there, he has led revival services, pastored churches in Kansas and Oklahoma as well as headed many mission trips with the Lawton Cavalry Assembly of God Church’s Men’s Ministry Team.
Elmore and his wife, Diana, arrived in Lawton in 1974 and began their ministry at Calvary as Associate Pastor. In 1976, he was given the position he still holds as Senior Pastor.
