DUNCAN — Duncan will be the host site for the Forward 45 Regional Transportation Plan being crafted by the Southwest Oklahoma Regional Transportation Planning Organization (SORTPO).
The session will begin at 5 p.m. Wednesday at Red River Technology Center Business Center, Rooms 508 and 510, 3300 W. Bois D’Arc, Duncan.
The session is designed to solicit public input into development of the regional plan, which organizers say is key to shaping the future of transportation in Southwest Oklahoma. Forward 45 is a comprehensive, 20-year strategic initiative designed to guide transportation decisions for all travel modes in southwest Oklahoma. The plan addresses key issues such as transportation safety, system conditions, accessibility, quality of life, and environmental impacts, by creating an integrated and efficient transportation network, planners said.
“We are eager to engage with the community and gather feedback that will guide our transportation planning efforts,” said Julie Sanders, SORTPO director. Information on other events is available via the Forward 45 website: Forward45.com. An online survey also is available for those who can’t attend meetings in person.
