DUNCAN — A Lawton woman was killed and another Comanche County woman injured following a Wednesday afternoon wreck in Stephens County.
Elizabeth J. Brundige, 61, of Lawton, died at the scene of the wreck, ½-mile south of the intersection of the Duncan Bypass and West Bois D Arc Avenue, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. Her body was taken to the Oklahoma Medical Examiner’s office in Oklahoma City for autopsy.
Brundige was driving a Chevrolet Cruz that collided around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday with a Toyota Rav4 driven by Maia Bennett, Trooper Zachary Wright reported.
Bennett, 59, of Elgin, was flown to Duncan Regional Hospital where she was admitted in fair condition with unknown injuries.
Both drivers were wearing seatbelts, according to Wright.
The cause of the collision and condition of the drivers remains under investigation.
