In this day and age, it’s always best to know how to safely use a computer and understand digital literacy, but not everyone knows how.
Friends of the Lawton Public Library seek to fix that with free digital skills training sessions Aug. 20-21 at 110 SW 4th Street.
Workshops will be taught by digital literacy experts from the national nonprofit Connected Nation, according to a press release.
Connected Nation’s mission is to improve lives by providing innovative solutions that expand access to and increase the adoption and use of broadband and related technologies for everyone, the release said. Connected Nation seeks to bridge the Digital Divide.
A light lunch will be provided on both days, the release said. Institutions such as schools, places of worship, community centers, local governments and businesses are encouraged to spread the word to ensure the success of digital skills training.
Registration is encouraged, but not required to attend. Participants are encouraged to bring their friends and family.
