The McMahon Auditorium Authority held a groundbreaking ceremony Thursday of Phase 1 renovations at McMahon Memorial Auditorium.
The first phase of the renovation will include the installation of a new HVAC system, improved ADA accessibility, including an elevator, and enhanced fire safety measures. During construction, the auditorium will remain open through Fall 2024 before closing temporarily in January 2025. The project is scheduled for completion by the Fall of 2025, according to a press release.
The funding was secured through the 2019 Capital Improvement Program.
The McMahon Memorial Auditorium has long been a cornerstone of the Lawton community, hosting a diverse range of events, including concerts, theatrical productions, lectures, and community gatherings, according to a press release.
