Lawton Athletic Foundation is excited to announce the 25th Gridiron All-Sports Golf Tournament that will be played on Monday, July 29, at the Lawton County Club, an event that serves as the major fund-raising effort for all three of Lawton’s high school athletic programs.
Members of the Gridiron organizing committee have been working for months to make this event happen as they plan how to make the day special for those who turn up each year to support local athletes.
Another field of 50 four-person teams are honing their skills to test the LCC layout and enjoy a day of mingling with friends and the coaches and athletes who will benefit from the funds raised.
Entries are now being accepted and the $500 entry fee per team includes range access, cart, refreshments during the round and plenty of food to keep players with plenty of energy to play 18 holes at the tough LCC layout.
Team captains can enter in several ways but the quickest is to contract LPS Athletic Administrative Assistant Anita Brown at (580) 512-6039 or email her at [email protected]. She can take your entry and for business owners she can send you an invoice.
Those wanting to enter can also pick up a tournament entry form from Gary Dees at Shoemaker Center or from the LCC pro shop. The forms have all the information needed to get your team in the field including a new QR code that you just scan with your cell that will get your entry on the books.
Entries should be made before 5 p.m. Friday, July 19, to guarantee your team a spot in the field.
Teams can take their option on whether they want to play in the 8 a.m. session or play in the afternoon session that begins at 1 p.m.
While numerous major sponsors have already stepped forward to support the effort, there is still time for other businesses to get in on the event by getting involved in the sponsorship levels that start with $100 hole sponsorships and range up to levels that include a team entry and visible signage during the event.
Any business that is interested in sponsorships can contact Anita Brown whose contact information is listed above.
Golfers will also be able to assist the effort by purchasing mulligans, taking part in a 50-50 pot or buy chances on door prizes that will be given away during the day. Those tickets are $5 each or five for $20 and they will be available during on-site registration the day of the event.
Committee members have also announced that this year there will be a $10,000 hole-in-one prize up for grabs for the first ace on ALL five par-3 holes at the LCC layout.
