When the cobblestone community in the Wichita Mountains starts a’rockin’ it’s time to come knockin’.
With the 12th Annual Rockin’ the Park music festival continuing today and ending with a real bang, you still have opportunity to catch a great final day’s lineup featuring a pair of local bands on the Main Stage at Medicine Park’s Hitchin’ Post Park before the festival closers.
Sunday’s lineup: Soul Survivors, 3 p.m.; Cade Roth & The Black Sheep, 5 p.m.; Return of the Mac, 7 p.m.
Also, in celebration of, both, Independence Day and Medicine Park’s 116th Birthday, there will be fireworks at dusk.
After a soggy start to the weekend, cooler temperatures are making this a good time to get out and get your boogie on. From all reports, opening night offered a packed park and it was filling fast Saturday afternoon.
Everything is free to the public to attend and it’s family and pet-friendly. Bring your own lawn chairs.
All shows are at the Main Stage under the tree leaved canopy. Located next to Medicine Creek, the cool breeze off the water drops the temperatures considerably.
Remember, there’s no outside alcohol allowed but there will be vendors for every flavor, not to mention all the establishments along Cobblestone Row to make it a trip worthwhile.
