A 25-year-old Lawton man is in jail on $100,000 bond after, investigators say, they found a cache of child porn on his computer.
Kyle Ray Reeves made his initial appearance Wednesday in Comanche County District Court where he received the felony charge of possession of juvenile pornography, records indicate. The crime is punishable by up to 20 years in prison and/or fine up to $25,000.
Lawton Police Detective Melanie Powers stated the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation assigned the department’s Internet Crimes Against Children task force the case after receiving three cybertips involving multiple videos of prepubescent females being sexually abused by adults, the probable cause affidavit states. The videos were received between Nov. 10, 2023, and April 14, Powers stated.
The phone number and email addressed tracked back to Reeves and warrants were received for his online electronics.
A search warrant was executed June 13 for Reeves’ home and when Powers identified herself, Reeves responded by dropping his head and saying, “I knew this was coming,” the affidavit states. Two internet modems a computer tower with keyboard and a cellphone were collected, according to the detective.
During questioning, Reeves admitted to going to a social media site and getting links to web addresses to find child pornography, Powers stated. Reeves said he first began watching child pornography while he was in high school, according to the affidavit.
Reeves returns to court at 3 p.m. Aug. 20 for his preliminary hearing conference, records indicate.
