OKLAHOMA CITY — A Fort Sill soldier was charged this week with federal child pornography charges.
Kristian Fernandez, 20, of Fort Sill, was charged Tuesday by a federal grand jury in the U.S. Western District Court with once count of receipt of child porn and another for possession of material containing child porn, according to U.S. Western District Attorney Robert J. Troester.
The charges stem from images and video transmitted through the internet involving a prepubescent minor, according to the indictment.
Records indicate Fernandez is not in federal custody, and detention is requested by federal prosecutors.
If found guilty on the receipt count, Fernandez faces not less than five years and up to 20 years in federal prison and for the possession count, he faces up to 20 years in federal prison.
On each count, he faces a term of supervised release of no less than five years and up to life, Troester stated.
