DENTON, Texas – Jilyen Poullard’s pinch hit single lifted No. 6 Oklahoma State to a 2-1 victory over North Texas Wednesday night in front of a sold-out crowd at Lovelace Stadium in Denton.
Mikayla Smith opened the scoring with a solo home run in the bottom of the first for the Mean Green. The lead was short lived as Cowgirl backstop Audrey Schneidmiller singled home a run to knot things at one.
In the sixth, Poullard pinch hit and drove home a run to put the Cowgirls on top 2-1.
Offensively, OSU was led by Rosie Davis (2-for-4) and Karli Godwin (2-for-4).
Ivy Rosenberry improved to 9-2 on the year going five innings and striking out two. Skylar Savage picked up the loss for North Texas going 5 1/3 innings and giving up two runs. Lexi Kilfoyl grabbed her second save on the year going two innings and striking out three.
Oklahoma State’s road trip will continue down to Houston as they take on the Cougars on April 5 at 6 p.m. in the first of a three-game set.
