DUNCAN — A Sunday morning stabbing incident has put an 18-year-old Duncan woman behind bars on $25,000 bond.
Summer Leann Taylor made her initial appearance Monday in Stephens County District Court where she received a felony count of domestic assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, records indicate. The crime is punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
Stephens County Sheriff’s Deputy Ronald Pruitt stated he was called around 12:40 a.m. Sunday to 701 E. Young in Marlow and was told a man had been stabbed in the arm by Taylor. The injured man was taken by Survival Flight to Duncan Regional Hospital for treatment of a wound to his upper right arm, the probable cause affidavit states. Taylor was still carrying a small kitchen knife when taken into custody. Two other kitchen knives also were found in the yard.
The man’s mother said her son and Taylor had been arguing and he told her to leave while she threatened to call the police, Pruitt stated. She said her son threw Taylor’s phone and keys in the yard and when she went to get her phone, said her son yelled “she stabbed me,” the affidavit states.
Taylor asked Pruitt if she’d killed the man, her boyfriend she lived with, and was told the injury wasn’t life-threatening. She said they’d been arguing most of the day and remembered telling him “I will (expletive) kill you,” but said it was out of anger and she didn’t mean it, according to the affidavit. She said she went in the bedroom and laid down and claimed the man jumped on top of her and began hitting her face, but she was able to block him.
Taylor said the man took her phone and keys and threw them in the yard. She, in turn, grabbed a kitchen knife and said he asked her, “What, you going to stab me now” over and over, the affidavit states. Taylor said she then stabbed him with the knife and threw other knives while chasing him, according to Pruitt.
Held with a bond condition to have no contact with the man, Taylor returns to court at 9 a.m. May 29 for her preliminary hearing conference, records indicate.
