Creating panoramic photographs using multiple images will be the topic of the next meeting of the The Wichita Wildlight Photographic Society.
The group will meet at 6:30 p.m. March 14 at the Boulevard Congregational Church, 5309 W. Gore, directly across from Eisenhower High School.
Rex Walker, a member of WWPS, will show how to create larger format images with a digital camera and stitching software, such as in Adobe Photoshop. Participants also will learn how to use the Pano feature on a cellphone camera. Walker will demonstrate the effect of different lenses in creating a panoramic image, according to a press release.
The release said that while cropping a picture can make a single image into a panoramic, using multiple photographs creates a large file that retains detail when enlarged to a wall-sized print. Frequently used to express the grandeur of a landscape, panoramas can also be used to capture wall murals, events, large group portraits and other subjects.
The release said Clem Wehner, president of WWPS, will present part two of his series “How to Become a Great Photographer: Mastering Composition” on April 11.
The release also said photographers of all skill levels are welcome. There is no charge to attend. The public is welcome at all meetings, which are held the second Thursday of each month.
As a member of the Lawton Arts for All organization, WWPS is partly funded by its participation in community events and by its members giving classes and displaying photographic art for the public.
