A woman serving time with a GPS ankle monitor is accused of ditching it and contact with the Oklahoma Department of Corrections.
An arrest warrant was issued Wednesday in Comanche County District Court for Amanda Marie Hebb, 36, for a count of escaping from the Oklahoma Department of Corrections, records indicate. With five prior felony convictions, she faces between 10 to 35 years in prison if convicted.
Hebb was released in August 2023 from Eddie Warrior Correctional Center to the Lawton Probation and Parole office for the GPS program. According to the warrant affidavit, she had a GPS home zone violation on Dec. 19, 2023, and a call to her went to voice mail.
Three days’ later, Hebb ‘s battery was unable to connect to the satellite due to a “critically low” battery. She last charged it Dec. 21, 2023, at her home at 1415 NW 22nd, the affidavit states. Probation and Parole Officer Richard Wilson stated he was unable to find Hebb at her home and officials have not been able to contact her.
Hebb has prior felony convictions in Comanche County: August 2022 for embezzlement, uttering a forged instrument and second-degree burglary; and from El Paso County, Texas: November 2013, fraudulent use of a credit card number, theft – possession with intent to use; and December 2011, carrying a weapon with unlawful intent, records indicate.
A $100,000 cash warrant bond was issued upon Hebb’s arrest.
